2026 Republican Propositions

Proposition 1 — Phase Out Property Taxes

Texas property taxes should be assessed at the purchase price and phased out entirely over the next six years through spending reductions.

  • YES — You support the idea of phasing out property taxes in Texas over six years by lowering them based on home purchase price and cutting government spending to match.
     
  • NO — You do not support this proposal and prefer keeping the current property tax system or pursuing different policy approaches.
     

Proposition 2 — Voter Approval for Local Tax Increases

Texas should require any local government budget that raises property taxes to be approved by voters at a November general election.

  • YES — You think local tax increases (specifically property tax hikes) should require direct voter approval in the general election.
     
  • NO — You do not support mandatory voter approval for local property tax increases.
     

Proposition 3 — Healthcare Based on Vaccination Status

Texas should prohibit denial of healthcare or any medical service based solely on the patient’s vaccination status.

  • YES — You support a rule that no one can be denied healthcare services just because of vaccination status.
     
  • NO — You do not support that specific prohibition.

Proposition 4 — Life Begins at Fertilization in Schools

 Texas should require its public schools to teach that life begins at fertilization. 

  • YES → You support a policy that public schools explicitly teach that life begins at fertilization.
     
  • NO → You do not support that teaching requirement in public schools. 

Proposition 5 — Ban Gender/Sexuality/Reproductive Clinics in K-12

Texas should ban gender, sexuality, and reproductive clinics and services in K-12 schools. 

  • YES → You support banning such clinics/services in K-12 school settings.
     
  • NO → You do not support banning them.

Proposition 6 — Term Limits for All Elected Officials

Texas should enact term limits on all elected officials. 

  • YES → You favor term limits for every elected office in Texas.
     
  • NO → You do not support term limits for all officials.
     

Proposition 7 — Ban Large-Scale Water Export

Texas should ban the large-scale export or sale of our groundwater and surface water to any single private or public entity. 

  • YES → You want to prohibit large-scale water exports or sales out of Texas to a single entity.
     
  • NO → You do not support that ban. 

Proposition 8 — Ending Public Services for Illegal Aliens

The Texas Legislature should reduce the burden of illegal immigration on taxpayers by ending public services for illegal aliens. 

  • YES → You agree Texas should end public services (e.g., some benefits) provided to undocumented immigrants to reduce taxpayer costs.
     
  • NO → You do not agree with ending those services as stated.
     

Proposition 9 — Stop Awarding Legislative Leadership Roles to Democrats

The Republican-controlled Texas Legislature should stop awarding leadership positions, including committee and subcommittee chairmanships and vice chairmanships, to Democrats. 

  • YES → You support restricting leadership posts in the Legislature to Republican members only (no Democrats in chair roles).
     
  • NO → You do not support that restriction.

Proposition 10 — Prohibit Sharia Law

Texas should prohibit Sharia Law. 

  • YES → You agree Texas should explicitly prohibit the application of Sharia law in the state.
     
  • NO → You do not agree with that specific prohibition language.
